23 children join parents as U.S. citizens
Twenty-three children representing 16 different countries, from Afghanistan to Zambia, squirmed, whispered and slouched their way through their official U.S. citizenship ceremony Tuesday at President Lincoln’s Cottage on the outskirts of Washington.

Veterans’ remains go unclaimed, unburied, sometimes for years. New bills hope to lay the issue to rest
Unclaimed veterans’ remains take up space in the basements of funeral homes across the country, and a new bill in Congress hopes to assist volunteer organizations with finding, identifying and, finally, burying these remains with the honors accorded to them as veterans.
