Lettuce Ladies fight meat-eaters

WASHINGTON — Wearing fake produce and not much else, the “Lettuce Ladies” of PETA, aided by other PETA staff and interns, were giving away veggie dogs to raise awareness about the group’s environmental and ethical concerns over eating meat.
The animal advocates staged the event in the Rayburn House Office Building courtyard Wednesday and tried to change the minds – and tastebuds – of congressional staff and passersby.
